Prospective Musicians

One of our major goals is to rehearse and perform the works of the standard orchestral repertoire. To achieve this goal, we seek approximately 80-90 proficient amateur musicians. If you are interested in auditioning for the MCO, please carefully read the following information and fill out the form.

Audition Information: Auditions are held in August of each year, shortly before the start of each MCO season. Specifics regrading auditions will be posted on this website.

2026 Auditions Details: Auditions will be held on Sunday, August 30th, at 313 Price Place Suite 7, Madison, WI 53705. Please fill out the below form to indicate your interest in auditioning.

Excerpts: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass. In addition, we ask that you prepare two minutes of a concerto of your choice that best represents your musical ability.

We will maintain a waiting list in the event that there are no openings in your section.
