MCO Policies for Players

Rehearsals: Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings (with some exceptions) from 7:00 to 9:30, with a 15-minute break. Members are encouraged to be seated and warmed up by the start time. We will make every effort to hand out parts before the first rehearsal of each cycle. Players will be notified of updated rehearsal information before the start of each season

Dues: Membership dues are an important part of our annual revenue.  Dues are $50 per year, $25 in September and $25 in January.

Attendance: We make the assumption that all members of the Middleton Community Orchestra want to attend rehearsals because they enjoy the experience of making music together.  On becoming a member, you are committing to giving your time to the group.  We recognize that it will not always be possible to attend all rehearsals when other commitments get in the way. However, one can miss too many rehearsals and that becomes a problem for the entire group.

Rather than implement a rigid attendance policy, we have opted for a more flexible approach. We will take attendance, and if your chair is often vacant, you will be asked to reevaluate your priorities. If a satisfactory resolution is not achieved, you will be asked to leave the group. You are welcome to rejoin at a later time if there is an opening, and the conflicts have been eliminated.

Every musician is important.

Please email us in advance if you will not be at a rehearsal.

Please give us one month's notice if you are planning to take a leave or quit the orchestra. We need time to fill your chair.
